Guiding You Every Step Of The Way.

At Abbeydale BEC we're here to help you every step of the way, no matter what stage of a development you're at, or what "Phase" in the investigation process.

Ground Investigation is often seen as only being needed to get planning permission, but good quality ground investigation has much more widespread benefits; like these 👉🏻

Understand the risks ✅

Reduce unknowns ✅

Better budgeting ✅

Reduce site waste ✅

Sustainable construction ✅

Know your legal liabilities ✅

Get design information ✅

At Abbeydale BEC we look at most things up to ground level, as well as a few things above too!

Phase 1 Desk Studies

Bringing together all the available information on a site is the first phase of investigation, known as a Desk Study

Let’s Take The First Step Together…

Phase 2 Ground Investigation

At "Phase 2" we take the assessment further by carrying out intrusive investigation and laboratory testing to refine and understand the potential risks in greater detail.

What’s Beneath Your Feet?

Remediation Method Statements

Generally considered as "Phase 3" in the investigation process, a Remediation Method Statement outlines what needs to be done to make a site "suitable for use".

How Can We Protect Future Site Users?

Verification Reports

Once the agreed remediation and validation works have been completed a Verification Report is prepared to confirm that the site is considered to be "suitable for use" for sign-off.

Verify It’s All Done & Dusted…

Flood Risk Assessments

If a site is within a defined flood risk zone or over a certain size, a Flood Risk Assessment lets you assess and understand what sources of flooding might be a problem and what can be done to reduce the risk of flooding at the site.

Is Flooding An Issue At My Site?

Mining Risk Assessments & Investigations

Determining whether a site has the potential to be affected by past mining activity is vital.

At Abbeydale BEC we provide a comprehensive assessment using a range of information sources and archive records to help determine if a site is likely to be affected by past mining activity.

If necessary intrusive shallow mining investigations are then undertaken; often this needs us to obtain a special permit to drill from regulators such as The Coal Authority.

Soakaway Feasibility & Investigation

Wherever possible, it is often required to utilise soakaway drainage for a development.

At Abbeydale BEC, we're able to assess whether soakaways may be feasible and carry out in-situ soakaway testing.

Are Soakaways Right For My Site?

Geotechnical Assessments

At Abbeydale BEC, we have a wealth of experience preparing geotechnical and engineering assessments.

These regularly include earthworks assessments, slope stability investigations and geotechnical assessments for proposed new highways.

What Do I Need To Do?

Ground Source Heating Assessments

Ground Source Heating is a way of providing renewable heat directly from the geology beneath us.

Abbeydale BEC are able to look at the anticipated geology and the most efficient ground loop collector configuration based on the geology beneath your site.
